The mission of our organization will be to provide quality affordable housing along with education and support services to families in Aurora and the surrounding communities who qualify for Section 8 vouchers and want to improve their quality of life.

Our vision is to see the restoration of houses, neighborhoods, families and whole communities.

We will accomplish this goal by acquiring housing in these communities, renovating the properties and then making them available within the budgets for Section 8 vouchers. We would then like to fill these homes with families that are willing to work within our program. These families would be open to accepting support to assure that they will be able to maintain the homes and be great neighbors and supporters of the community. Home2Help will also work with the neighbors where these homes are located and make sure they are educated about the benefits of this program and how they can help make it a success.

The issue in our community that we are trying to address is that there is a lack of good, affordable rental units available to our neighbors who need public housing. The Section 8 vouchers were at one time above market rent in the area, but have now fallen at or below. Because there are other risk factors involved with renting to Section 8 tenants, landlords are hesitant to work with our community members who are a part of this program. Often times our family and friends who rely on the vouchers are forced to live in substandard units in areas they do not want to live. The landlords they have are motivated by profit and do not always act in the best interest of their tenants.

The goal of this program is to flip that around and restore an atmosphere where the owner of the home is actually looking out for the best interest of the tenant. This can be accomplished by responding to needs regarding the actual structure of the house and also responding to the needs of the tenants in other areas of their lives.
